older and busier

Sat Aug 8, 2009, 8:19 AM
So it's my birthday, and 1 year down the line I seem to have even less time to engage in the personal indulgences ... i.e Photography. Climate change is a hard taskmaster when it's your work.

So I just uploaded a stream of photos reflecting experiences of the last few months.

May feels like October

Fri May 29, 2009, 5:15 AM
So it's the end of May, and what have I managed to do on DA? Precious little. Have been playing a bit with BW images though ... a good break. Plus also trying the 5m challange: there are 5 good pictures to take within 5m of where you are currently sitting ... can you photograph them?

Lot's of pics waiting in the wings to upload ... one day I guess.

Embarrassed

Thu Apr 30, 2009, 11:12 PM
So after my camera was stolen, by means unknown, I ordered a replacement ... D60 + 80-200mm + the 18-55 kit lens, and a Speedlight200. It was all delivered, and the next day I moved a book on one of my multiple bookshelves, and there was my old D40x. Stunned silence hardly describes my reaction. Sigh. So I have a D40x, 18-200mm VR zoom, UV filer, 4Gig SD card, for sale.

I guess the upside of it is that it was a good learning experience to be forced to use an alternative for photography ... my old S3 point and shoot. I read somewhere that one should force oneself every now and then to leave ones favored lens/camera behind and use other alternative ... helps one to see things anew. It's true!

Still no new images uploaded ... lots of material at hand though.

What happened to life?

Sun Feb 22, 2009, 12:30 AM
Where does everyone else get time to edit and upload images???? I have loads of new pictures, but they're just accumulating while life hit's me over the head with stuff.

Sigh.

Meantime my lovely Nikon D40x was stolen. Double sigh.

Time is an illusion ... lunchtime doubly so

Thanks to Terry Pratchet for bringing some perspetive!

The hi·a·tus (/haɪˈeɪtəs/ - a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc.) continues.

Where does time go? Certainly not enough goes here! A puppy does, however, relieve matters somewhat! [link]
